About me
Vern Hazard truly has a passion for life, service, and relationships. He brings over 30 years of experience in education, advertising, and coaching, with the last 20 years spent serving and empowering superintendents, boards, and upper-level cabinets with Flippen processes. Vern’s greatest desire is to ultimately serve kids by helping school administrators create a safe and loving learning environment for every child that walks through the door. His position affords Vern the opportunity to build relational capacity in order to challenge and grow leaders to be the best they can be. Vern considers it a joy and honor to serve, and he loves that relationships last a lifetime! Vern graduated from Olivet College in Michigan with a bachelor’s degree in kinesiology and a triple minor in speech, communications, and theater. He received the prestigious Walter B. Sprandel Award for the outstanding senior male in athletics, academics, and leadership. Upon completing college, Vern lived in Europe, Australia, and Japan for eight years while working in advertising. When he returned to the United States, he began teaching and coaching at Deer Park High School, located southeast of Houston, Texas. He taught theater and Teen Leadership™, and coached varsity football and baseball. It was Teen Leadership that brought him to Capturing Kids’ Hearts®, and he now travels all over the United States, serving schools. Vern lives with his daughter Alexandria in College Station, Texas.
