About me
David Dowling, JD, MDR, is an accomplished mediator, professor, and conflict resolution consultant.
As the founder and owner of Dowling Mediation Services, David provides exceptional dispute resolution training, mediation, and consultation services to a diverse range of clients throughout California. He is also an adjunct professor at the Straus Institute for Dispute Resolution at Pepperdine University's School of Law.
From 2009 to 2018, David directed the Mediation Clinic and Criminal Justice Dispute Resolution Clinic at Chapman University's Fowler School of Law. During his tenure, the clinics received the Ninth Circuit's Alternative Dispute Resolution Award, a testament to David's expertise and leadership in the field.
David is a highly respected instructor who has taught mediation and negotiation skills to law students, lawyers, judges, and professors worldwide. In 2016, he was invited to teach the first Mediation Skills course in Kyiv, Ukraine, at Taras Shevchenko National University. For the past six years, he has also taught dispute resolution skills at the Law Society of Ireland.
He holds a Bachelor of Arts from Brigham Young University and earned his JD from Chapman University School of Law. David furthered his education by obtaining a Master of Dispute Resolution (MDR) from the Straus Institute for Dispute Resolution and Pepperdine University School of Law.
